Hello, newbie here ...

I am running a D-Link DIR 615, flashed with DD-WRT v24-sp2. Connected to that are several laptops/desktops and a DNS-323 NAS (on a static lease) which runs a BitTorrent client.

What I have been trying to do is to setup the router so that the NAS, and maybe one of the laptops, uses a PPTP VPN service (ipredator), and the rest of the laptops/desktops uses the 'normal' internet connection.

I know my way around windows and a telnet console, but am no linux guru. I have put in the time and researched this in the wiki, this and other forums (for about 8 hrs and counting), but so far I have only found several threads with the same question regarding VPN services, but no satisfactory answer (and ipredator does not support OpenVPN).

There are some descriptions using a second router as dedicated PPTP client, which I might do if nothing else works. However, so far I am - probably naively - convinced that this should be possible by a) configuring the PPTP client and b) routing the NAT from the static address to the PPTP client. So far:

a) I have configured the PPTP client (subnet 192.168.2.0) but get "not replacing existing default route" and "no response to 3 echo-requests", and no entry in the routing table. I figure that this is the result of the still active connection configured to automatic by DHCP.

b) I realize that I don't even know where to begin with the routing, because I don't know how to address the PPTP client.

My questions probably reveal the depths of my ignorance about the whole process. I would be very grateful if someone could tell me if this is possible and point me towards the right direction.
