Hello!

And so begin the transformation of Sitecom WL-351 in Engenius ESR9850.

1. Pull out the cord from the WAN port.
2. Flashing with file - ESR9850-APPS-V2-1-0-124_mod.dlf
Rebooting takes 3-4 minutes. After rebooting, we get - menu of a router ESR9850.If hang up - HW reset - off and on holding the WDS - 15 - 20 sec.
3. After that, flashing with file ESR9850-KNL-V2-0-1-114.dlf
4. We get is a normal ESR.
5. flashing with file - ESR9850-APPS-V1-1-0-86.dlf

After rebooting, we normally work ESR9850.
There is a moment - HW reset no longer works, it does take a solder button.

To return to the Sitecom - flashing with file- WL-351-APPS-V1-5-0-7mod.dlf.
But after a reboot - flashing file WL-351-KNL-V1-5-0-7.dlf

files for transformation:

thanks for your effort! I've been waiting for a custom firmware for WL-351, since the stock firmware is kinda limited.

I have a few questions:
''HW reset no longer works, it does take a solder button. '' Does it mean you can't hardware reset WL351 after flasing with the reset button?

The upgrade process is from the firmware upgrade page on the default router page?

so .. it seems it will have a ESR 9850 firmware then. Does this firmware has an Wake on LAN-feature on it, cuz the default sitecom firmware is really limited?

I will let u know if the update works! Very Happy

No, because in this version of application this feature not released. But I need stable version with L2TP protocol on WAN, and I got it.

By the way, what HW you have in your WL351?

Just some (probably) dumb question:
why flash the ESR9850-APPS-V1 after having installed the ESR9850-APPS-V2?

Does it matter which wl351 version I have?
The sitecom firmwares for both versions looks identical (same checksum).

I'll have to check the version this evening at home anyway.

[edit]
looks like dd-wrt for wl351 is a WIP:

But it's a WIP since january 2011...

Because ESR9850-APPS-V2-1-0-124_mod.dlf - is modified for uploading to rewrite original WL351 firmware (WL351 check is the Sitecom firmware).
only with ESR9850-APPS-V1-1-0-86.dlf I have stable version and all features works (on higher version, when I plug WAN, WL351 works 3-5 min and reboots).
