Hi Guys,

I am a virgin media UK customer and I know from setting up previous router/modems that I needed VC-Mux or VC multiplexing to be set (and not llc one).

On my wbmr-hp-g300h I noticed that there was no option to choose between VC and LLC.

I noticed that the ppp daemon run with conf file
/tmp/ppp/options.pppoa I had a look at it and saw the first line:
/tmp/ppp/options.pppoa:plugin /usr/lib/pppoatm.so 0.38 llc-encaps

Do you think it is possible to have an option to change llc to vc ?
I noticed that it required kernel modules (llc.ko) and I am not sure if the vc one is already present in your releases...

Moreover I have seen that this configuration is present in lib /lib/services.so but obviously this is not something I can change by hand.

Does anyone from dd-wrt intend to implement this option ? I cannot connect to my ADSL without it :/

Many thanks.

If so, then you are not using the latest dd-wrt firmware build.

Thanks, I will try tonight.

Indeed I have the 18026 installed (The one from http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database for my router).

I am using PPPoA and not PPPoE in case it matters.

You'd better use this file (r18172):

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=148711&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

The latest published build (r18687) from the ftp site has LAN switch problems, problems are corrected but no new build available yet.

Hi LOM,

This does not help. I upgraded with the firmware you gave me on the second link. The upgrade worked as there is "Annex M" available on the second link.

However, LLC encapsulation is still used and under the PPPoA options I cannot choose VC-MUX.

Do you know if there is a release where you can choose VC-MUX with PPPoA ? I might try the other one with LAN switch issue later to see.

Sorry, gui encapsulation choice for PPPoA was included in changeset 18475 so 18687 is the only published build with it.
The LAN problem with 18687 is trashed packets sometimes so make sure you have wifi enabled as a back door into the router.

Ok thanks a lot, well noted, I will configure the wifi first and then upgrade. Or maybe I'll wait for a new release. Where should I look to see new releases publication ? in the same ftp link than above ?

Almost the same link, shorten it down until 2012 and you will se the released versions for this year (there is only one so far).

A new public build is expected within a few days according to the developers so it may be better for you to wait.

Actually r18740 is available now !

[edit] LOM, is there a ticket for the switch issue so I can check if it should be fixed with r1870. I am wondering if http://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/18735 is the revert of the change which caused the problem.

I installed the last build. I was able to setup everything as it is on the router given by virgin media uk but it is still not working. I have no idea what is wrong. Can I get explicit logs for ppp ? my dmesg below:

Thanks for the links. I also had the same problem and checked the website you linked and the latest version of the software from 8th June allows me to choose VC-Mux.

Here is the direct link:

Thanks again.
