Can anybody confirm that this works properly except LEDs?
Can I flash it through webUI?
YES, i can confirm.
I have upgrade from original firmware, before i have done restore to factory settings, upgrade first factory-to-ddwrt.bin and after that tl-wr740nv4-webflash.bin
It working good, until now, (1 hour uptime), except Lan and System LED'S. I see that surfing on webgui of dd-wrt have some lag. Anyone can confirm this ?
Edit: I see a bug wich exist on the first release of original firmware, but was repaired in the second version V4_111130 (Fix the problem that LAN ports get the IP address assigned to WAN port). _________________ TPLINK WR1043ND V3

Router TL-WR741ND v4.3 flashed ok, leds not working, AP mode working ok, client mode doesn´t work, wireless status reports connection but router is not getting WAN IP.
Also using site survey reports duplicate SSIDs for some APs around home.
What strange issues you have!
I configured my 740n v4.2 as repeater...well in atheros is client mode + virtual interface as ap.
Both with WPA2 mixed security.
Worked great at first! Fast, nothing strange.
The only bad are the leds. But thats all!

The client mode problem seems to be a common issue for atheros, I also have an wr841nd, same problem with new releases, had to go all the way back to build r17201 for it to work, however never tried as repeater.
My wr740n v.4.20 was flashed with factory-to-ddwrt.bin today, but after that I've got a problem. I can't access my control panel in my browser. TP-Link's default http://192.168.0.1 and http://192.168.1.1 is not working. I can use the Internet only with ethernet cable, which is plugged in my router.
UPD: Nevermind. I've got acces. It seems that it was lag.

I am having trouble to revert wr741nd v4.3 to stock firmware, I am using the webrevert firmware posted at http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=85237, but every time I try the process, after 4 or 5 seconds, the message Upgrade Failed appears.

Yeah, i have same lag as you. Today i found another bug, i have a printer connect to router wich is not working. Revert to original firmware using file posted by LOM HERE and everything is perfect now, printer is working. _________________ TPLINK WR1043ND V3

The repeater mode doesn't exist in atheros. It's client mode, but adding a virtual interface as AP.
AT first I tried client mode only, and connecting the computer through ethernet to the switch.
As it worked well, I added the virtual interface, as AP, bridged with the client. Worked the same in the ethernet side, and then connecting through wifi and also got great performance.
I have a 30mb wireless connection, but in the upper floor, which I don't even see in my bedroom so I have the router in the best place it connects in my floor. It gets around -60..-70dBm and a 40% of signal quality at best case. Not too good but also not the worst.
Connected with ethernet, I get 25mb and 17ms of ping.
In the repeated network, due shared wireless bandwidth between client and ap, in theory it should be the half at best. I get 10-12mb and 18-20ms of ping.
So, I think it performs great for the conditions of signal... and being the first build version of this firmware, definitely is a great success.
