A part of me just died.... sorry but I am still yet to see any of Broadcom's highest end radios beat Atheros, they have little tolerance for decent TX power and jitter throughput, and their fastest CPU just isn't fast enough for a top end router like this. It needs the AR7161.

A Netgear reseller told me that the current WNDR3700v2 is identical to the recently released WNDRMac and the soon to be released WNDR3800. They only added or removed OpenWRT features during re-compile of their firmware.

WNDR3800 has Atheros AR71xx series CPU, probably 7161, as someone said before, 16 MB Flash, 128 MB RAM, FCC ID PY308300092. Ask me if there are any more details needed, can get them through telnet.

the latest FW v.1.0.0.16 is still unavailable from NG, links dont work, only v.1.0.0.13 is available on NG FTP, they do work with 3700v2's via TFTP, and offer more features already mentioned, even the FW stringtables verify compatability,
for example: "<br>2.Fixed "WNDR3700 locks up when a USB hard drive is connected, if there are many pictures and video files."
if anyone knows where to get the v.16 FW please advise

from the live chat with NG support, "Thanks **** for waiting, I have also check it and it seem to be that there is no FTP access, I have already forward this concern to proper department. I don't have the exact time when this will be uploaded, but instead I will just suggest you to check the website from time to time. I am really very sorry for the inconvenience."

hope they upload v1.0.0.16 soon, very nice FW for the 16mb flash wndr routers ; wndr37/3700v2 and wndr3800

new features in the wndr3800 and wndrmac firmware, both new routers have same hardware code as wndr3700v2, but fw is over 10mb now:

Clear Channel Selector
NETGEAR Genie™
Expanded TiVo® Storage
Apple Time Machine Compatible
Bonjour Printing (wndrmac)
ReadySHARE® Cloud
ReadySHARE® Printer
DLNA compliant (already on 3700v2)

nice , with so many wndr's with similar hardware , lets hope we get a DD-WRT Special Edition for them!!

Is this the only build available?
I am interested in "Mega"

Also, I tried this one out:
http://www.myopenrouter.com/download/35172/DD-WRT-for-NETGEAR-WNDR3800-Full-Release/

It is bare bones.
