Has anyone tried the 18687 build (ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/03-08-12-r18687/files/dlink-dir600b/) on the Dir-600 Rev Bx? I'm currently using the old 14896 build, but there the port forwarding is broken, which is a major nuisance. I really hope a new stable version will be out for the Dir-600 Rev Bx in a not too distant future, which has all basic features working.

Build 18687 has the LAN Port broken. The latest working ones are Build 18007/18000. Everything seems fine though, but yhat might because I'm only using it as a repeater.

Indeed. I also tried those versions, but the LAN ports don't work on that build, like you say (I had to flash the router again with an earlier version). If I can recall correctly, SSH was broken on the 18007 version also (that's why I'm using build 14896).
It's weird that basic functionality like port forwarding is not working on a stable version. Hopefully it will be fixed (eventually)..

Hi all,

I have just successfully upgraded the firmware to r18777 (March 19th) via wireless.

Now all LAN ports are work and so far (been more than 24hrs) all traffic on Wifi, LAN, and WAN are OK. Light on power indicator is still orange but at least I get my connection on all LAN ports back.

I didn't test the SSH yet, nor the statistic and nice graphs for monitoring. Maybe later.

Here's the link:
ftp://dd-wrt.com/../others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/03-19-12-r18777/dlink-dir600b/
My router is D-Link DIR-600 Rev.B.

Thanks for sharing that piece of information. If you have the time, please check if port forwarding and SSH are working correctly. If they work, I also might attempt upgrading to version 18777.

I tested SSH using puTTY and it works well. Port forwarding works when I tested with single port 80, seems stable, but didn't have time to test other ports as well as other forwarding method (range forwarding, port triggering, uPnP, and so on). Anyone?

I upgraded to version 18777. SSH works and the router seems to be working good overall. However, still no port forwarding. Sad
Tried both Port Forwarding and Port Range Forwarding, to no avail. What did you change to get port 80 forwarded?
Alot of people are writing that port forwarding is broken, using alot of different routers and firmware version. No one has any luck with this, apparently.

Tried 18777, confirmed that port forwarding is not working as well.

I guess I'll go back to 18007.

Does DMZ works? I rarely use Port Forwarding, but I might just need them in the future.

Not sure about that as I don't use DMZ.
I'm back on 18007 already.

I have installed the version R15962 on my brand new DIR-600 Rev. Bx and everything is working OK.
The rev. Bx has the same 32Mb Ram and 4Mb flash as others revisions.
The only problem is the power led that is orange instead of Green. (This probably can be corrected by gpio

Yes, the power and the globe are both orange on mine now as well.

1. What is the gpio?

2. I guess i'm more curious to know why this has changed than anything else.

3. I would like to know how to change it though if possible.

Kind regards,

I vote r15962 the most stable build for DIR-300 revb. I have tested r14896 and the various latest r18xxx builds.

I use my router solely repeater bridge.

18007 has remote ssh broken for me. It works on the LAN side, haven't been able to get it to work from the WAN side with either the remote management option or manual port forwarding. I don't remember the previous version i was using but it gave me WiFi problems with my new iPad, that's the reason i updated. That seems to be fixed now so I'm on the fence about downgrading to 15962 or keeping this one and forwarding ssh to a second router i use as a bridge (don't love that idea since that's a potential point of failure).
