edit: found the solution :
I put the LZO compression on "Disabled" in the DDWRT GUI and put a #comp-lzo in the clients config file.
So LZO compression now is disabled and openvpn working again....
Don't now if i really need this compression...

I have installed DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) std - build 14896 on my TP-Link 1043ND router.
Now, I wanted to upgrade to 12-20-11-r18024, but all I get is "upgrade failed" in few seconds after starting the process, no matter what I tried.
Any ideas how to upgrade it?

I'm having 18777 for 13 days uptime. So far only problem I got noticed with wireless in NG mode, wen I switch to wireless chanel width 40 my wireless hangs up periodicaly. With 20 width and speed up to 144 it is ok....
MAC adress clone for WAN is working ok, I know that since I have myself MAC address from Linksys WRT54G cloned, it just need some time apros 15 seconds for MAC clone to become active after applying changes.

I´m using 18777 too. DDNS with zonedit works great, but pptp server drops clients and upd broadcasting seems not to work

Just one a bit silly question.
Why with all DD-WRT builds the wireless speed is 144.444 Mb/s ?
With the stock firmware was 300 Mb/s.
Please answer some of the advanced users or BrainSlayer. Thanks

it`s a "bug" in newer builds eg 18024 and up
with b/g settings it shows 0.054
with n (ht20/40) it`s 144.44
and with n ht40 it shows 300
dunno why _________________ TP-Link TL-WDR4300 v1 - DD-WRT std svn 21286 ;?

TL-1043ND v1.8 r18777 wlan freeze/crash in wds sta or client bridge when connected to first AP set to turbo 40mhz .
Ap1 TL-1043nd v1.8 r18777 wlan settings
ath0
AP / NG MIXED / TURBO 40MHZ / WPA2
ath0.1(config 1)
WDS AP / WPA2
Ap2 TL-1043nd v1.8 r18777 wlan
settings 1
ath0
WDS STA / NG MIXED / 40MHZ / WPA2
ath0.1
AP /WPA2
result:- no association with primary ap1
settings 2
ath0
WDS STA / NG MIXED / 20MHZ / WPA2 (
ath0.1
AP /WPA2
result :- connected and pingable ; as soon as data transfer starts betwwen 2 clients (client1 connected to ap1 and client2 connected to ap2) wlan freeze/crash within few seconds on ap2 . Have to power cycle the router.
only workaround is to set the primary AP1 to 20mhz . which a loss of bandwidth.
:-have tried the openwrt 10.3.1 same result .

can confirm!
btw: is there a way to use more than two AP's?
With my WRT's i had my network running that way:
AP1-AP2
|
AP3
With Atheros hardware(1043nd) this doesn't seem to be possible. So what is a way to get my setup back?

Hi!
I posted a question in another thread (link ) regarding this router.
In short:
Is there a known problem that makes the router inaccessable after some idle time (even with stock firmware)?
If so, will this be fixed when I switch to DD-WRT?
Edit: Maybe I should add that the wireless disappears and the cable connection is inaccessable, but the router looks (i:e blinks its lights) fine.

Hello. I loaded the Factory to DDWRT file from http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database into my new WR1043ND router. After it was complete, the router is not communicating via LAN, but it does have a WAN. My computer can connect to the WAN, but I am unable to log onto the WR1043ND to configure it via browser.
Am I going about logging onto it wrong (for configuration), or do I need somehow to roll it back to the original configuration? How do I do anything to it, if I can't log onto it?
I'm not dumb, but I do need someone to give me a slight nudge in the right direction. Thanks.

lsd2k, I figured out that I could connect to the dd-wrt router wirelessly. I used telnet and can communicate with it. Not sure what to do now. I've done the 30/30/30 more than once. I suppose I could do a 45/45/45 - more time doesn't hurt does it?
I'm looking to see if I can find commands now in telnet to reset it or upload the original profile.
