So I'm working with a Netgear n750 / WNDR4000 with...
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/09/11) big
(SVN revision 17990)

After going rounds with Netgear support, and them telling me I cant connect my 1tb WD Mybook to the 130 dollar router I just bought from them, I installed DDWRT and Optware, and was able to get my USB connected NAS working flawlessly.

Only one hitch, I only transfer a 6 to 7 megs a second in and out of the USB drive, which is USB 3.0 compliant. I havent played with Linux in 15 plus years, and cant for the life of me figure out how to make sure that the router's drivers are USB 2.0, which is what the hardware is capable of.

Any help or insight would be awesome, and rewarded with many smileys and OMG TYTYTY's.

Out of not wanting to type out long explanations again, i am going to point you to this thread. Read it and it'll explain what your limitations are..
