Question. Running build 18027 and cant increase TX Power beyond 16db. Is there a reason for that?

I understand they have a 6db antenna but 16 + 6 is 23db.. I thought they had more grunt than this...?

They do but you only see the power output from the Atheros wifi chip, there is a power amp between it and the antenna and dd-wrt does not have the calibration/offset tables needed to display the true antenna jack power.

I have good news and bad news...

Wifi signal defiantly better with latest releases.

have tried 18687, 18767 and 18777.

Note: When web flashing with these releases they will brick router.. TFTP only..

Bad news: Activation for DDWRT nuked when running these latest released with no way of licensing.. key not being issued.. all good when re-flashing back to 18024, license returns.

AirOS still performing better it would seem.. at lease in my testing.. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Testing also with Picostation 2 HP with ddwrt 17201 this also out performing M version..

Thankyou for your help guys.. 18777 behaves great for signal strength when running as standalone AP.

But I'm seeing issues when WDSing 18777 router into network with 18024 firmware. This seems to reboot router every few min..

have gone back to 18024.. Will do test more when i can..

we have about 40-50 networks running ddwrt with various routers .. and i do like your software, it's just awesome.!!

its cause 18024 uses the old driver...incompatible in wds.

Having issues with web flash still when flashed to 18777 ..radio is non accessible by any means..

Have tried with multiple devices.

TFTP works and then i have to reactivate and reconfigure radio. I have lot to do.. would be great to just web flash and reactivate and not have to reconfigure the radio from scratch Smile

Ok.. heart of the problem..

flashing from 18024 to 18777 works if radio is previously un-configured. Specifically WAN is not enabled.

Enabling WAN seems to make the router fall over in 18777.

After enabling WAN in 18777 i can see the SSID, i can connect to network, i get address from DHCP but unable to ping 192.168.1.1 or browse there.
