I'm having a problem (probably very beginner) and wondering if someone can point me in the right direction...

I'm trying to flash from stock Asus FW and can't even get the router into recovery mode [Insert laughing and "NOOB" here - I know I know]. I'm following the wiki, have the appropriate DD-WRT FW file, and the AFRU; I've disabled firewalls and all that. I unplugged the router, held down the reset button, and plugged the power adapter back in - the power button started flashing. But when I run the AFRU, it says "No wireless device in recovery mode is found."

I'm unsure of what I'm doing wrong.

The ethernet cables are fine... I'll try an older WinXP computer next I guess.

I did my update on windows 7 64bit.

The IP setting was set to Detect automatically on windows. Although, the pc didnt fixed to an IP with router in recovery. Thats ok. After that, try using Asus recovery utility.

I just did flashed it this morning... Still not sure why my Win7 pc wouldn't work. Worked fine with Vista.

Thanks for your help Smile

Most probably it might be due to firewall program!
