I've got a slight problem with my VPN connection to WORK.

When I connect to my work's VPN and I try to connect to a remote computer through the hostname it doesnt work, but if I use the computer's ip [172.19.17.102] then it works. When I ping it-carstend it I get the following:

C:\Documents and Settings\dresslerc>ping it-carstend

Pinging it-carstend.dai.cosma.com [64.158.56.56] with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 64.158.56.56:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

Now the IP address 64.158.56.56 is something I never seen before. Its not the computer's IP that I'm trying to connect to.

If I remove the Router and connect directly to the modem and connect to my VPN and ping it-carstend I get the following:

C:\Documents and Settings\dresslerc>ping it-carstend

Pinging it-carstend.dai.cosma.com [172.19.17.102] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 172.19.17.102: bytes=32 time=75ms TTL=126
Reply from 172.19.17.102: bytes=32 time=74ms TTL=126
Reply from 172.19.17.102: bytes=32 time=86ms TTL=126
Reply from 172.19.17.102: bytes=32 time=84ms TTL=126

Ping statistics for 172.19.17.102:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 74ms, Maximum = 86ms, Average = 79ms

Which is 100% correct. Now this tells me that either I have something not properly configured on the Router or its a potenial bug. I've tried multiple computers and get the same results so I doubt its related to my laptop. Anyone any ideas?

Thanks!
