I've don't know what to do... It used to work when I had a different, newer build. But I was having some other problem, so I read for hours and everything suggested ancient build 14929... So thats what I put on. And it works great at 2.4Ghz but I get no signal detected at all on 5Ghz.

Can someone link me to a newer build that works for this router? I am totally lost in the sea of different builds out there! Somehow, I just don't believe the wiki...

TIA!!!

you didn't reset the router to defaults after flashing it.

flash 15962:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2010/12-24-10-r15962/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-15962_NEWD-2_K2.6_std_usb_nas-e2k-e3k.bin

15962 is the best build to date for the E2000 & E3000

do not forget to tell the router to reset to defaults after the flash from the drop down on the gui upgrade page.

I did a 30/30/30 reset after and had "reset to defaults" checked when I flashed the 2nd, e2k-e3k build.

So should I use the factory reset button inside DD-WRT or are you talking about a hard reset with the red button?

I will upgrade to the build you suggested. Will post back results. Thanks!

glad you got it sorted out..

build 14929 was not the cause of your 5ghz radio not working.

still, 15962 is the best build to date.

Is this still true? I just bought my e2000 and flashed it. The base version was v16785 and I can't get 5ghz to work. When I set the wireless to "only 5ghz" the router doesn't show up on any of my devices.

Should I try going back to this older version?

Stupid question but you are sure your clients can receive on the 5ghz band?

For a second there I thought you were calling me stupid! I was ready to throw down! Laughing

Now that I've calmed down...

Yup, my macbook Air, my Mytouch 4G & my CR-48 all see 5ghz wireless-N. The e2000 disappears on all of them when I put it into N only mode.

Running 15962 on my e2000. When i changed it to n only no wifi is available. I reset to default, restarted it and still no dice on n only.

Any ideas?

Have you tried flashing stock back to see if it works on that?

Are you sure your client is compatible with what you are setting your router to. Is it N 5ghz. Your post really doesn't clearly set out what you have done and what is happening...Plus you are threadjacking this thread. Post in your own thread with proper details.
