Hi guys,

I've flashed DD-WRT 18024 (12/20/11) on my E1000 v2.1. I'm happy with it, ethernet performance is great, but...

I have 2 Macs — an iMac (10.Cool and a Macbook (10.7.4). Both of them have serious downlink issues being connected wirelessly. That's definitely a Mac-only and wifi-only problem, since my tablet and phones have nice high speed both ways, and if I use cable, everything is fine too.
Here's a recent Speedtest from my iMac, located in 30cm (10") from the E1000:

A Macbook (10 meters, a big wall) has same results: ~0.7 down/~32 up.

Here's an extract from the SysInfo:
Quote:
Current Network Information:
%mynetworkname%:
PHY Mode: 802.11n
BSSID: %BSSID%
Channel: 9
Country Code: GB
Network Type: Infrastructure
Security: WPA2 Personal
Signal / Noise: -34 dBm / -100 dBm
Transmit Rate: 144
MCS Index: 15

I'm using WPA2-AES, tried 20Mhz, 40Mhz — no difference.
Here's what the WiFi status page shows:

iMac is in the second line. -72 friggin' db, being in 30 cm from the router.

I really tried to google this problem, but couldn't find anything.

I really appreciate any help or advise.

Have just tried completely disabling wireless security — no luck, same results.

UPD:
After a couple of reboots, both macs SUDDENLY got 30mbps speed in both ways over wifi. I tried to play IPTV with VLC (UDP multicast), and eventually that hanged the whole WiFi part of the router — you can't even connect to it, getting a connection delay.

UPD2:
Have just realized DD-WRT won't work with multicast over WiFi (unless tambourine dancing with udp proxy is involved). Reverting back to original fw Sad

I too was having this issue. I would see blazing speeds on all non Mac or Apple devices and couldn't figure out what was causing the issue.

After lots of testing and trying different routers (E2000, E3000) I decided to try an older firmware version that I had. After flashing the E1000 with version 16968 I noticed that I no longer had the download speed issues with Mac/Apple devices. Problem solved!

Maybe someone with more experience could let us know what changed between version 16968 and 18024 that would have caused the issue.

Hope this info helps.

Also, one thing to note is that I never had the speed issues with a flashed E2000 or E3000. It just seems that the E1000 didn't like the 18024 version...
