Sorry if I'm not reading this correctly, but does this mean that we should be seeing the 5ghz band on e2500 with this new build?

Thanks for all the hard work, its appreciated...

Barryware,

I have been playing with wl_high on this build (aka the 5ghz driver, I think its version 2 specific, maybe new drivers are needed... but I got here so far, you can play as well.

root@DD-WRT:~# insmod wl_high base_1
Symbol usb_register_driver is being used by a non-GPL module, which will not be allowed in the future
Please see the file Documentation/feature-removal-schedule.txt in the kernel source tree for more details.

wl_high: Module loaded successfully

it meas the wl_high driver is in the build, and loading it is fine, now getting it to fire is a different story.... there is nvram variables and other things that need to be set properly before it fires... however it is progress.

I use original firmware v1.1.1.1.52 on RT-N53
5Ghz nonstable and Slow never go over 50Mb/s
but now v3.0.0.4.130 It faster 80+Mb/s(10MB/s)on 5Ghz

You can download
"GPL of ASUS RT-N53 for firmware 3.0.0.4.130"
on asus website
You may found a new way.

Very Happy

I have been testing latest head revision, power light is fixed on the e2500 and openvpn seems fixed as well, as well as SSH. Once and awhile I will post a trailed build to test these broken features... I take then down after about 8 hours as not to flood the bandwidth of the forums...

This is not an official build so please post bugs/fix's ect here do not submit a trac ticket..

Edit: looks like a new topic.. here is the bin for the E2500

Edit: I have uploaded bins to 4shared as not to flood the forums

Again Know your build before flashing.,.

I flashed with dd-wrt.v24-19298_NEWD-2_K2.6_std_usb_nas-e2500.bin located on page 2 of the 4shared link and it updated fine. Been running for a day no problems.

Now it worked, I had to hard reset, flash with linksys firmware, and then dd-wrt.

Thanks, let's see if it doesn't freeze now..

I have chatted with barryware and he has been kind enough to allow access to his ftp site for test builds. Going forward I will putting them up there due to the ad's and other junk on 4 shared...

I have a complete build set at 19298 up:

ftp://ftp.barryware.net

its anonymous login, if it gets abused or mangled we will take it down... And if you test post here your experience good or bad and we can learn and identify bugs much faster.

again a big thanks goes out to barryware, he is the man!

Are you doing the 30/30/30 reset before you flash, and waiting at least 5 minutes after flash is successful?

No, I just reset, flash it..and wait to the browser redirect..then I configure it, power off and power on...as I always did on my old wrt54gs... But it seems to don't work on E2500

I'm gonna try that..

How well does this version work on the Linksys E3000? I have tried different versions, but r18024 has been stable for me but for multi-SSID's. Not sure if I should change or not.

At this point, do you recommend the average joe using DDWRT for the 2500? or sticking with the newest Linksys firmware?

I mean, what are they losing/gaining by going with DDWRT at this point?

Hi, I currently have 18946M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko Build on my E2500, and since day 1, I experimented issues with video playback like YouTube, the video starts loading and at some point, like 5%, it stops loading, I read about and some people mentioned that it had to do with Router's RAM, I followed some instructions mentioned in the peacock thread, but free memory command showed good numbers.

Does this new build addresses any issue related to that behavior?

Or, is there any known fix to that?
