I have flashed a WRT54GL with V24-SP2 VPN edition and for the life of me I can not get a Windows XP PC, Windows 7 Pro PC, or an Android phone to connect. I am using the following settings on the VPN page:
PPTP Server- Enable
Broadcast Support- Enable
Force MPPE Encryption- Enable
DNS1- 8.8.8.8
DNS2- 8.8.4.4
WINS1- blank
WINS2- blank
Server IP- blank
Client IPs- 192.168.1.20-192.168.1.30
CHAP-Secrets- "vpn * PasswordHere *"
What do I need to do to get the VPN to connect properly?
I didn't have the CHAP-Secrets in quotes, just in this post. I also tried specifying the public IP of the router, not the private. I can't get to the router again tonight as it is at work, but I will try that tomorrow.

Running
Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) vpn - build 14929
Server IP = 192.168.1.1
user * password *
Everything done to the Wiki setup. Everything running fine for 3 months after initial setup . . . didn't use for 3-4 months & now it doesn't work.
Can't seem to get the modem to "listen".
I never had a good chance to work with PPTP VPN until a couple months ago. My settings are all very similar to the first post with one exception. I believe the "Server IP" has to be different than your router's IP outside the DHCP scope. For example, if your Router IP is 192.168.1.1 then make it 192.168.1.2. Of course that's if 192.168.1.2 is not statically assigned to anything else. Mine with that setup has been running flawlessly for the past couple months.
I'm also amazed at the speed of the VPN running on my Asus Rt-N16 with build 14896.
