does the TP-Link WA901N/ND v1 file also work for my WA901ND v2.2?

WA901ND has different stock firmware for v1 and v2 and since the revert file is a stock firmware with added dd-wrt header the revert file will not work on a v2.
Hello, I am an unlucky owner of a TP-Link WR941ND with the much dreaded intel chip that loses configuration settings after each reboot.
I've read a lot of threads and I understand that in order to return it to it's original firmware a serial box is needed. Alternatively a Nokia CA-42 cable can be used, which I bought.
I've read all about connections and soldering but I do not understand in which exact way the nokia cable must be modified in order to achieve the serial connection.
So, is there any solid tutorial out there somewhere that I can follow in order to fix my router? Thank you all very much in advance!
