An Asus RT-N16 has an SD card mounted as such:

Quote:
root@CHARLIE:/opt/install# mount
rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
/dev/root on / type squashfs (ro)
none on /dev type devfs (rw)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
ramfs on /tmp type ramfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw)
devpts on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)
/dev/discs/disc0/part1 on /jffs type ext3 (rw,data=ordered)
/dev/discs/disc0/part2 on /opt type ext2 (rw)

I tried to wget the OTRW script but wget does not seem to work:

root@CHARLIE:/opt/install# wget -O /tmp/prep_optware http://wd.mirmana.com/prep_optware
root@CHARLIE:/opt/install# ls -l /tmp/ | grep prep*
root@CHARLIE:/opt/install#

So to get around this I SCP-ed a copy of the script:

root@CHARLIE:/opt/install# ls -l /opt/install
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jan 1 04:29 GV patch Fuyun
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jan 1 04:44 log
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 24205 Aug 1 2012 prep_light_basmaf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 25041 May 25 2011 prep_optware18
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 25048 Jul 16 2012 prep_optware_no_asterisk_install.txt

An attempt to run the optware script:

Optware installation was NOT successfull...
Your hardware is probably not compatible

Is wget the culprit and what can be done to repair this?

This is your backup router right?
Wget shouldn't be the problem.

Can you ping fraters or my site from cli.
The failure is in the first part of the script.
I suspect you have dns problems.

Yes it is a spare router that I will deploy in another state.

You were right: it was a DNS problem! Good job
