slow USB speed is just normal. FTP has some overhead traffic.
Dont forget, this is NO x86 CPU, just a mips one. so dont expect more usb speed. _________________ RT-N66U @ Build 25697M K3.10.63

Belkin F7D7301 upgraded to 18946 mega. The signals are weak compared to my old USR5461. Is there any tweaks need to be done or because it has internal antenna, it is expected.
I installed the latest dd-wrt i could find which was dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega.bin. THe stuff that does not work is
1. i am not able to add static ip's
2. i am not able to forward ports.
3. Connection to LAN and 5Mghz radio seems intermittent. Now the 5Mghz option does not show up in the dd-wrt firmware. It did when i first installed. When connecting to the LAN port directly, that also stopped working.
I should have also mentioned that my router is f7d8301.
I believe "Big" is the largest build that is compatible with F7D8301, not "Mega". I could be wrong, but I recall reading that on these forums.
________
Also, I recently acquired an F7D8301 Belkin Router with DD-WRT installed on it [dd-wrt.v24-17084_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini] and I have a some questions:
1: Where can I get the Toastman Tomato firmware to put on this device? All of the 4shared links associated with Toastman seem to be deleted.
2: If I can't change to Tomato, which DD-WRT is the most stable version for this particular router, namely for Wifi performance for both G and N? (Using 17084 NEWD-2 K26, as mentioned already)
Thanks!
Edit: Found the reason why Toastman's files are missing:

4shared have a problem. The files are actually stuck in the "recycle bin" and althought that actually says the bin is "empty" my free space is only showing 2.548 GB left. Therefore all the files *are* still there, intact, somewhere, and I expect (hope) they will be restored soon.
I tried uploading to mediafire last night and that obviously failed as you can't see the files either. I'll try again later.

Since the 8301 has the same amount of flash and RAM as the 7301/3301, I would expect that the generic mega build is OK. yes? no?
There is a good install procedure for the 3301 by NITECOM in the thread with BEST DIY in the title, and he includes the mega build after a trailed mini is installed. I don't remember if I saw something as detailed for the 4301, other than the first post in this thread. _________________ WNDR3700V1, WRT300NV1, WRT54GV5,8, F7D8301

im willing to help if someone ask my assistance.for windows 7 only.
Hi guys, I just upgraded to the latest DD-wrt for this router, and it is great. I want to enable DLNA on teh software so my google tv can read media off the hard drives. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I found this but i'm not sure if it applicable.

Hi,
I have a Belkin F7D8301 v1 router that I am trying to flash to dd-wrt. It currently has Belkin stock firmware (1.00.2.
Problem: After restoring factory defaults and 30/30/30 hard reset, I don't get the CFE web browser.
(I have flashed other routers to dd-wrt before, including a Belkin ShareMax N300 a couple of months back. I did the 30/30/30 hard reset sequence successfully on those routers.)
On my new F7D8301 unit, after power up, the LED starts with blinking green and in about 45 seconds, settles to blinking red. I got the web gui at 192.168.2.1, and restored to factory default, waited 60secs for it to come back. Then did the 30/30/30 hard reset. After plugging the power back in with the reset button still pressed, the LED starts to blink green, and is still green when I release the button at 30 seconds. However, a few seconds later, it turns to blinking red. Switching to static IP of 192.168.2.8 on my laptop and refreshing the browser at 192.168.2.1, brings back the Belkin Router Setup home page again. I expected to see the CFE browser page, to select a firmware file to upload but don't get that.
The Version Info page with the stock firmware shows:
Hardware F7D8301 v1
Firmware 1.00.28 (Aug 30 2010)
Boot Loader 1.08e
I've tried the 30/30/30 hard reset multiple times now; even tried turning the switch off and on in the power strip instead of pulling/plugging the power plug from the router, in case I was releasing the reset button too soon. Didn't make a difference. I am always coming up with the Home page rather than the CFE web browser.
I've search through the forum threads, and read the peacock thread, which does say "HARD RESETS USUALLY DON'T WORK WITH STOCK FIRMWARE!". What should I do instead? I checked the Belkin specific guidelines page too, but there is nothing there for this model.
Am I doing something incorrectly? Anybody else running in to this? What else can I try?

It believe I remember reading that to bring a Belkin back to life, you disconnect the power plug, hold down the WDS button on the router and continue holding it for 10 sec after plugging in the power plug. _________________ WNDR3700V1, WRT300NV1, WRT54GV5,8, F7D8301
