Hi
I am trying to use my netbook configured with a public IP address and my KIWI syslog server software to monitor my remote server. The server is running ver 19342 of DD-WRT. I enabled syslogd under Services and put it the public IP on my netbook. I know my syslog software works, but I am getting anything from my remote router. Do I need to configure a firewall rule to allow this traffic through the WAN? That port does the syslog use?
add the port to send to, too _________________ Forum Guidelines...How to get help

I am trying to view the log file, so Itried this command as pr he wiki: cat /tmp/var/log/messages
It seem that the command excuted, but did not get an output. I had done this by telnetng and SSHing into the remote router. Am I missing something?
