2,4/5 Ghz dual band router - mesh on 5ghz, clients on 2,4?

I have a couple of D-Link 825 routers

They have 2,4 and 5 ghz band. I'd like to create a mesh to cover small area (4-5 routers), but since it halves bandwidth i was thinking if i could create the mesh on 5ghz and have the clients on 2,4 ghz?
