TP-LINK TL-WR841ND has a new worldwide version of v8. BrainSlayer must have it on his desk so that he tries to develop support for it. If he does not get a piece, this model will never be supported in future. Only devices shipped before May 2012 will remain supported - ver 7.x and below.

I am organizing a fundraising. Once we reach the required sum I will buy a device and I will ship it to BrainSlayer so that he starts working.

This device is not running Linux so there is a chance that we don't get it supported even if donated. But efforts will be made in every case.

Efforts is not enough, there must be some kind of chance for a port to succeed.
This router is running VXWorks and is booting via VXWorks proprietary boot loader which has to be replaced with an u-boot boot loader and the chance for this being done is slim, very slim.

Flash is 4MB, ram is only 16MB which will make it run crappy under linux, and don't we have enough of dd-wrt supported Atheros 4MB flash based routers already?

There are other TP-Link routers that I'd rather see supported than this one..

The RAM chip in the last picture is a 32MB chip.

Still $25 have to be donated. As soon as we complete the fundraiser I will send a router to DD-WRT. If we don't collect the money I will give the pennies to everyone that helped.

My TL-WR841ND v8.0/Intl (rev:1.0) from Amazon has 32Mb of DRAM and u-boot; the board is very similar to a v7.x version and there's already a patch on the OpenWrt trunk (r33621:r33623).

Maybe someone can backport these modifications on dd-wrt...

There are still $25 to be raised.

If I get the money in 10 days I would buy a router and send to Germany and developers will try to make support.

If I don't get the money I would refund to the only one person who donated.

I am getting ready to issue refund to the only person who donated. And this router will never be supported if someone does not decide to buy it and send it to them for support.

I am sorry. Nothing happens without money. This time nothing can happen without donated hardware due to very important changes.

You still have five days. Keep in mind I am also donating work and postal expenses for that. And I even don't care if it would be supported or not, I don't have such a router for myself, I am doing it only for joy.

Come on guys, you obviously tested wr841nd v8 China version with 16mb ram and vxworks. There are 90% of the v8's that have 32 mb ram. Its also showed on openwrt wiki that the International version(what all of us have) is 32mb ram and running linux. Please, someone donate one device and make it supported......

I have a papyal acc with 20$ but i need a USA Credit Card to exctract those.. i accidentaly made the account on the USA, and i'm from Romania, so my credit card. If you can withdraw the money from it, i'll give it to you..

might the "old" WR841ND dd-wrt-build work as well?
