I would to flash a unify ubiquity device from the trial dd-wrt version.

is the recover method shown in the Announcement working for airOs devices only or it works for Unify device, too?

I tried more and more.

simply: pinging 192.168.1.20 does not works.
reading carefully the ubiquity forum, the unify device seems not included.

I'm sure.

I have two unify ubiquity routers, but I'm not able to reset them.
this is a problem for me, because I'm not free to install dd-wrt software (I live it) and came back to ubnt software when I want.

I think dd-wrt should provide a way to flash ubiquity device undependent from firmware, in similar way then ubnt software does (simply using fwupdate.real software from command line).

the ubiquiti unifi has no tftp recovery unfortunatly. but you can still install dd-wrt on it. just follow the instructions placed together with the dd-wrt binaries (install.txt)

1.
copy with scp/winscp UAP-DD-WRT.bin to 192.168.1.20:/tmp
2.
login with ssh/putty to 192.168.1.20 and change directory to /tmp (cd /tmp)
3.
execute the following command
fwupdade.real -m UAP-DD-WRT.bin -d

for my reference:

thanks.
That'a a point.
If I cannot flash my unify, it's not my fault.
I think this must be remarked on Announcement.

Thanks again.
but that's not my goal.
I know your procedure, and it works for me.

I just want to be free to come back to ubnt software from dd-wrt (trial version).
if tftp method is not working, dd-wrt must provide another way.

Hi,

I'm also desperate for a solution to this. I have 22 hours before my kit becomes bricked.

Thanks

I too made the mistake of flashing DDWRT on this device. I have tried every method to get it back to the stock firmware to no avail.

This is asinine. My device is now basically hijacked and useless until I pay for a license.

And to think that it's been this way for several months/years now... With no real answer!

At least warn the users that buying the license won't do them any good as they can't activate it or revert to the stock firmware!
