I checked the device database on the main DD-WRT website for my Netgear WNR2000v3, but it was not there. However, I did find it listed under "Supported Devices" on the wiki. I am looking for a small tutorial, such as the one given on the wiki for the WNR2000v2, that I may use for my v3 rev. I have read the Peacock thread, but I do not understand why the wiki tells me to flash an "overtake" img, or even what that is. Thank you for your time and help.
Edit: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/07-20-12-r19519/netgear-wnr2000v3/. Is this the correct set of files?

Initially I wanted to use the netgear(Wnr 2000 v3) to extend the range of my current wifi. My friend sent me to this website.
I'll admit i skimped on the necessary prerequisite readings.
Using the netgear web gui, i attempted to update the firmware with wnr2000v3-factory_NA.img
When the router restarted, the power led stayed organge for about 10 seconds, then went off and all the leds flashed. This would go on without end.
I did the 30-30-30. Nothing
Other things I have tried include
1) Pressing and holding the reset button, which changes the power led to green. It blinks without end and nothing else happens
2)pinging 192.168.1.1 which tells me host cannot be contacted, but does says response from 192.168.0.6 (So I am assuming that that is the IP of the router)
3)Downloading and using the firmware upgrade utility. but that only generates a timeout error
4)ping 192.168.0.6 I get a TTL of 128
5)change my ip to 192.168.0.1 and re run firmware upgrade utility

Team, I have been beating my head against the basement wall trying to upgrade this router to DD-WRT. I had verified before the flash that the router worked with it's factory Netgear load. I then watched Richard Loyd's video and followed his steps one by one. When I was done everything looked good except that I was not getting any transmissions out of the Netgear (verified with NetSpot and Wireshark traces). Nothing I tried would wake the blighter up. After several weeks I decided to revert to the Netgear firmware, and when done, it was back to transmitting/receiving. I decided I had a bad set of DD-WRT firmware. I looked around and I see several 18777 versions, with different sizes. So would someone post the byte sizes of the 18777 'factory' firmware and the webflash firmware? Or even better, please run an MD5Sum and post the results. Thanks ever so much!
