This firmware is from 2-11-2013, so it's new.
But I can find any release information, what is changed since the last firmware?
Questions:
1. Possible to install v24 preSP2 and v24K26?
2. What is the best stable and secure firmware and why? Experience?
3. What about maintenance, noticed that the firmware versions of 'BrainSlayer' is an ongoing development, are all firmware versions kept up to date by security?

Greetings...
Hey, I upgraded my firmware to the "BrainSlayer" one, I had the official DD-WRT builds installed prior to that. It seems that it's working just fine, but I installed it because I was having problems with the RT-N16 filling up the NVRAM and resetting, so I'll report back if I have any trouble.

Please keep us posted. I am on build 16785 and am thinking about flashing a newer one. _________________ the gpzbc

If you don't need Optware or some of the other fancier features,
try the newest Asus release listed in my sig.
I had DD-WRT running on my RT-N16 for a while, but recently it was having
wireless issues in N-Mode - the channels kept hopping around on their own.
On the newest Asus firmware - the N-Signal is strong, solid, and stable
I miss some of the functionality of DD-WRT on it, but the N-Mode was the most important to me. _________________ Soylent Green Is People !

Thanks! I'll check that out too. I just want to try something different because I am experiencing pretty poor wireless performance on 16785. _________________ the gpzbc

I flashed the fractal build of 20006 yesterday and so far am very pleased with it. The wireless signal and performance is quite a bit better. Thank you for the suggestion.
Now I just need to find a better build for my WRT310N that I have wired as a wireless access point on the other end of my house. Build 14929 is giving me poor wireless performance when streaming and much slower upload/download speeds than it should.
Thanks again for your suggestions. _________________ the gpzbc

I'm running the latest BETA build of 20675 standard build on my 310Nv1 and its working quite well. I have mine setup as a RB unit connected to my ReplayTV unit.

Ah yes, thank you for the recommendation. Your last recommendation has worked out well for me, so I think I will give build 20675 a whirl.
Thanks again. I am very appreciative. _________________ the gpzbc

I don't want to hijack this thread talking about my WRT310N, but I thought I would post a quick follow-up in case anyone read the earlier suggestions.
The fractal build of 20006 is working great on m RT-N16. No complaints. Thanks!
However, my WRT310N is not happy with the latest BETA build of 20675 standard build. It works fine for a while and then after a scheduled reboot, it is unresponsive and the blue power led starts flashing. All I have to do is do a power cycle of my router and it starts working again, but I am wondering if the build didn't get flashed correctly.
I am going to try flashing it again to see if that helps, and I might try flashing the mini version of 20675 to see if that makes any difference since I don't use many of those extra features on this router. If all that fails, I'll be searching for a different build.
EDIT: No luck with the reflashing and the mini build. I get the same flashing blue power led. So I am off to find a new build. _________________ the gpzbc

Is Loopback fixed on the 20006 build? Have you played around with VPN at all to see if it's functional? Some builds I worked with after 14xxx had issues with VPN PPTN VPN functionality.
