Hi folks,

I'm having trouble to upgrade my Linksys E900 from the 'mini' firmware to the 'big' firmware. I can install all the 'mini' versions up to the latest 21061 build, but the last 'big' version that actually can upgrade a 'mini' is the 19342 build from last june (dd-wrt.v24-19342_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv64k.bin).

Some newer builds even report 'success' on update from 'mini' to 'big', but when I check, the 'mini' version is still there. Any idea what I'm doing wrong ?

Thanks for the help !

They are too big. A reading of a few posts would have brought that up.

Thanks for the response. I couldn't find information regarding the E900, most of it is for the higher end Linksys stuff.

I meant that the recent builds are bigger than 8MB of flash. So any router with 8 like the e900 can't use them.

What do you mean by "too big"? The version that the OP is using (19342) is 7805 KB. The latest version (21061) is only 7657 KB.

By the way, I just upgraded my E900 to version 21061 (big) without a problem.

OP, make sure you try it in IE. I tried it in FireFox initially, and it wouldn't execute the upgrade for some reason.

The last build is smaller but if you read around on the forum it seems stuff has been left out and people are having issues with it.
That might be why it's smaller.

By the way, is it normal to have so many transmit errors?
