2.) Set static IP on wired PC (ip:192.168.1.10 mask:255.255.255.0 gw:192.168.1.1)
3.) Do a 30/30/30 and set the password on http interface when finished
4.) telnet -l root 192.168.1.1
erase linux
reboot
5.) On a linux desktop using atftp
atftp --option "mode octet" --option "timeout 180" --verbose --trace --put --local-file ~/WNDR4000-V1.0.0.82_8.0.71.chk 192.168.1.1
6.) Wait 5-10 min & the router is ok
Reboot router, Clear browser cache and return Static IP on computer to DHCP.
But when i tried "telnet -l root 192.168.1.1" , i can't accept my login & password.

If you reverted back to stock firmware, then most likely stock firmware doesn't have telnet, atleast stock firmware i know of doesn't have telnet... You'd need to access the router from a web browser now. _________________ Wireless N Config | Linking Routers | DD-WRT Wiki | DD-WRT Builds | Peacock - Broadcom FAQ

Just to let you know buddee, the rt-n66u stock fw has telnet, it has to be enabled in the fw first though.
Good to know, but i have a WNDR4000. I never seen any telnet option in stock fw (yes for the wndr4000, which is what this thread is about to begin with), though it has been some while since i have used stock, still don't remember it being in there.
Maybe you are thrown off by this statement - "atleast stock firmware i know of doesn't have telnet..." but i never drifted from talking about the WNDR4000's stock firmware to keep on topic.
I apologize, I misread. I thought you meant that no stock firmware that you knew of had telnet. Once again I look like an idiot. Just delete my stupid posts.

Nah this is mainly a misunderstanding, There are other factors at play which made me answer in that way, i mean as far as i know, netgear could have added a telnet option to the WNDR4000's stock fw in a newer revision and i not know about it. So thus a generic answer. _________________ Wireless N Config | Linking Routers | DD-WRT Wiki | DD-WRT Builds | Peacock - Broadcom FAQ
