I moved to Merlin from the stock firmware, then updated the CFE, then loaded the Fractals

How is your WAN set to get it's IP?
DHCP? Static? PPTP?

Maybe just try to set it to a different type, apply it, and then set it back to what you want it to be?

DHCP. I've tried changing it around and back to DHCP. Nothing Sad

Not meaning to sound like a smartass here but unless you are prepared to provide more details about your setup like what type of ISP, modem etc etc.

Then no, no thoughts at all, its kinda hard to troubleshoot with a statement that just says "WAN doesn't connect, won't get an IP"

This is the dd-wrt forum, why not ask this question in the tomato forum?

From stock I flashed this build a few days ago:

dd-wrt.v24-20979_NEWD_2_K2.6_mega-RT-N66_64K.trx

Now my wlan has become extremely jumpy. Several times each hour I get disconnected. When trying to point my browser on the laptop to 192.168.1.1 I get 'You're not on a network'. On my android I got an 'Authentication Error' message. After 30 sec or so I will be back up, but it is pretty annoying.

Any clues?

I'm a complete newbe to dd-wrt, please excuse me for my ignorance.

upgraded from a ASUS WL-500gP V2(DD-WRT) to a ASUS RT-N66U.
I followed the directions, found my device has CFE 1.0.1.3 using a merlin build, then flashed 21402/dd-wrt.v24-21402_NEWD_2_K2.6_mega-RT-N66_64K.trx. working great. Thanks for all the info in this thread!

may we ask why ?( we already did ). a patch has been supplied by fractal month aggo.

a full featured K3.X 66NU cant live good with 32K. my N66U needs now 38K . .

some users report that N66U now comes with fixed CFE and so on from stock.

and waiting time is not that long Smile

i understand, but i havent yet the 64k support ready which deals around with the original original bad cfe. my primary target right now is to test if all is working so far, before i start to add new code to the kernel. the 64k support is simply a bad hack and not clean code and i have to deal with very different problems in the nvram code like nand flash support etc. it must work on all devices and not just on a single one

Can't test without 64K NVRAM support. Could you gen a generic 64K Big version so that I can modify the .bin for the N66U ?
