hello i am new to dd-wrt and have an i-ball router
after searching a lot i came to know it is a TP-link
wr741nd or wr743nd (when i open firmware provided by company it has tp-link technologies written in it)
problem is when i try to upload dd-wrt it says
Error code: 18005. Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name.
i tried to change the file name but that doesn't solve anything also original firmware works with any name i am also unable to install firmware from tp-link.also tftp gets timed out (tried like 100 times)
attached images of my router and orignal bin file
pls help
Even TP-Link original firmware doesn't work. I tried v1 and v2 firmwares. (Pictures of my router are identical as Rosewill RNX-N150RT).
Router Name: Multilaser RE027
Version Firmware: 3.9.18 Build 100719 Rel.36350n
Version Hardware: RE027 v1 00000000
Anybody have idea of which firmware I should use? (Or which method to flash...)
Off topic question: This router have USB host support (http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr741nd#usb.host.mod) and I checked that DD-wrt have tab configuration for USB storage. Installing the last dd-wrt mod, my router will work with any usb drive attached to it?
I updated my router firmware with last TP-Link firmware.
I discovered the HW ID of Multilaser is 00280001, so all that you need to do is change this on original firmware from tp-link (just for the first time).
Then update via web-browser.
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=168045#p168045
What I did:
0)Download software firmware hw id modifier.exe.
1)Download first version of original tp-link (TL-WR741ND_V1_100312).
2)Change HW ID with the software (firmware hw id modifier.exe) to 07410001 - 00280001.
3)Update by web-browser (cable, no wireless) this firmware modified.
4)Router restarts TP-Link original.
5)Download last version original (TL-WR741ND_V1_100910) e do the update (now, you don't need change HW ID, only for the first time).
6) DONE ! Router TP-Link last update Original.
Now, the router have original firmware from TP-Link. All others update(dd-wrt, openwrt) will be done with no problems.

I did exactly the same as xpiolx, but then I used another hardware / vendor ID for this ICIDU Router with silkscreened on the PCB: 11N Wireless Router-6 (AR11) A REV:1.0. I discovered you have to use 00100001 I also found by googling you can use ID 00050001 for Siroco. Other HW / vendor ID's can be discovered by changing the last numbers of the first 4 numbers, this way:

Attached is the file to change the ICIDU 150N to TP-Link firmware by firmware upgrade on the administration page of the router.
I know this is an old thread but I'm all out of options. Do you happen to know the Hardware ID of an ICIDU NI-707533 (rebranded TP-Link TL-WR1043ND)? I've tried 10430001 and almost every variation I can think of but it's not working. Thanks!
Your ICIDU 300N gigabit router is a total different router then the icudu 150N NI-707517, rebranded TP-Link WR741v1 this topic is handling about. So you probably have to look in another topic.

I'm having the same issue. Rosewill RNX-N150RT. Tried to upgrade using the above instructions and got the listed above.
I couldn't quite figure out how the person fixed it. Is there a firmware with the correct ID already modified? If not, are there instructions on how to do this?

I just wanted to thank Boterbloempje for this file because before I registered on this site I had no idea the files could be downloaded here, so I spent more time than I wanted searching the allmighty internet for the hardware id change software and correct firmware. So thanks again!
I uploaded his customized bin file and the router (what also used to be a ICIDU 150N NI-707517 ) is now running fine on the tp-link firmware. But not for long.
