I have searched and tried several things to no avail.
I used to be able to connect with my old laptop, now it's dead. I'm now using my backup PC with XP. I read the Peacock thread when I did the flash to DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) std - build 14929. It worked fine.
I did a hard reset because I couldn't ping it using my old IP setup address, and all appears to be well. The Default Gateway when using ipconfig /all is blank. I know the IP address of the Router is 198.162.1.1. (I did use 192.168.1.1, typed it wrong as noted below)
I am unable to connect to the router using my old PC at all. I did a System Scan to see if the Network had any issues,it all came back Passed.
What am I missing?

I'm connected to the LAN port with an Ethernet cable plugged into the PC port.
I searched here on the forum. Did a few searches and could not find a solution to my problem.
Set the Local Area Connection Internet Protocol Properties to 192.168.1.2, Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway 192.168.1.1, Set the DNS Server to what I found when using the command prompt, Preferred DNS Server 64.40.221.11, Alternate DNS Server 64.40.221.12. Originally had it set to Obtain IP address automatically. As per http://portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm
My Firewall is OFF, using Internet Explorer to find 192.168.1.1. My wireless connection is off.
The three lights on the router are green, the light on the Ethernet Port on the PC is on.
I get a Limited or no connectivity Yellow exclamation point icon on my Local Area Connection.
I have performed a hard reset 30/30/30, unplug power to router for 10-15 seconds. I did this three times and each time the lights performed normally. I know what it looks liked with bricked. It happened one time and I was able to fix it.

Ok once you hard reset the device you should be able to ping it at 192.168.1.1 once the router and cable is good.
Can you connect via wireless ? Once you factory reset you should see an open wireless network called dd-wrt or something similar.
EDIT: what lights are on?
Is the router plugged into anything else? _________________ Buffalo WZR-600DHP - 23838

Ok so let me get you here
When you plug in a cable into one of the LAN ports the internet light comes on? Does the light come on no matter which LAN port you plug the cable into?
And nothing is plugged into the WAN port? _________________ Buffalo WZR-600DHP - 23838
