Hey all. I've been using dd-wrt on my linksys router for a long time and I loved it, and helped put it on some of my friend's routers too. I recently got a free WD router from intel, and while the interface is nice, I prefer dd-wrt.

However, My Net N600 is not in router database, neither in supported list, nor unsupported list. Regardless I thought it would be fun to try, even if I wind up with a brick.

Hopefully someone will be able to help me try. So! consulting various documents, and telneting into my router, I've been told to pull this information together first:

Western Digital: My Net N600
FCC ID: RRK-D2F (link to ffc.gov's info, including internal pictures)
Cpu:
system type: Atheros AR934x (internal pictures show AR9344-BC2A)
cpu model: MIPS 74Kc V4.12
BogoMIPS: 279.55
ASEs implemented: mips16 dsp

Memory:
Total: 111372
used: 34468
free: 76904

Flash:
Filesystem: /dev/root
1K-blocks: 9408

Linux version: 2.6.31--LSDK-9.2.0_U8.834-svn4367 (bouble_hung@Zeus) (gcc version 4.3.3 (GCC) ) #1 Fri Dec 14 15:43:09 CST 2012

-------------------------

So how should I proceed? Many thanks in advanced.

I tried to install the firmware via the GUI but it failed. When I tried from the command line using wget, I got a "read-only file system" error. Chattr not present, and I was unable to create any directories. How can I write-enable the device?
