So, yesterday I successfuly installed DD-WRT v23 SP2 Micro, and all was well except for random disconnects. Earlier today it disconnected and would not reconnect and I was able to access 192.168.1.1. I unplugged my router and plugged directly in to my modem. Just a little bit ago I went to plug in my router to try it again. The router had been unplugged for a few hours.

Now when I plug in the router, all that happens is all the lights except DMZ and WLAN come on while the power light is flashing. When power goes solid, WLAN lights up, flashing every few seconds, and all the lights stay on. When I plugged my router back into my modem, the modem's Activity light did not come on. When I plug my computer into my router it says "Network cable unplugged."

I have tried the 30 second reset using the button on the back, I have tried holding it down, while unplugging it, then plugging it back in, and nothing seems to work.

Any help? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried giving your PC a static ip, and connecting directly to the router ? trying to access the web gui http://192.168.1.1 ? also, do you get a responce from ping while connected this way ?

My only suggestion is holding the reset button in for 1 min instead of 30 sec at this point, and I don't know if that will work or not, because the gpio for the reset button for a G v6, may not be correct in the CFE.

Looks like Jtag time, unless anyone else has some suggestions. Ancentine17 in this forums makes them, If you purchace one, or make one, let me know, and I will help you get it back with the neccessary files, etc. As long as it has not been hit by a power surge or something like that.

At this time, I have made up a story to Linksys, and they have approved an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization). I am going to re-flash after i receive the new router (because the standard firmware sucks), and if I have this problem again I will use the Jtag method.

If it is bad that I use an RMA please let me know lol.

Ok, So I received my new routers today. Linksys Return center are morons and sent me 2 that both work perfectly. Anyways, which version do you suggest I use? I was using v23 micro with the latest service pack on my last router I believe and it caused the router to lose connection randomly, then I unplugged it for a while and it was bricked. So does anyone think I should use v24 micro Beta or an earlier version?

Both routers I have here are WRT54G v6

I am running the current V.23 beta on a GS v6, and am not having any problems. Maybe yours was just a bum router, I guess no one can say. I have tested extensivly installing DD-WRT v.23 & reversion. These boxes are picky... and it is nessasary to "play" with them a little sometimes.

What ever you decide, good luck

OK, I have a successful flash to v.23 SP2.
I didn't install SP3 due to what happened last time.
