Hi there,
I own a FritzBox 7170 (version 1) and like to know if it's possible to port the DD-WRT over to these boxes (AFAIK all boxes share the same architecture..)?
No clue but as you can see in the list of supported devices in the wifi it is not supported as of now.
Whether it can be supported, that answer lies in the chipset used. I would guess "no" since, other than you say, not all "boxes" share the same architecture at all... _________________ If you use DD-WRT, you HAVE to make a donation! According to http://www.wehavemorefun.de/fritzbox/Hardware (only German, sorry.. but I can translate if you want), all boxes share the same MIPS-CPU and the main difference is often only if there are 32 or 16MB of flash memory..
Especially the wiki-entry talks about
Quote:
Innereien
and that means
Quote:
Inwards
The boxes are based on the integrated AR7-processor-family (http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/bcg/bcgprodcontent.tsp?templateId=6116&navigationId=12111&path=templatedata/cm/product/data/ar7) von Texas Instruments (http://www.ti.com).
in English.. ;)
Also, the wiki says:
Quote:
Sie unterscheiden sich im wesentlichen durch ihre Anschlussmöglichkeiten.
which means
Quote:
The main differences are their connectivities.

Allright. Now a developer will have to answer whether that is a CPU/hardware combo that dd-wrt can/will be ported to. _________________ If you use DD-WRT, you HAVE to make a donation! See this topic too: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=228
