I have a strange problem with Cifs

I want to mount a samba share from my ethernet harddisk on my wrt54g.
the adres of my share folder is //192.168.1.135/FILMS

i don't use a username or password.

So i try 30 times to mount it, very sometimes the folder is mounted but when i go to the /tmp/smshare directory i can't acces that folder.

i tried lot of possibilities to mount it:
//192.168.1.35/FILMS
//nasserver/FILMS
smb://192.168.1.135/FILMS
smb://nasserver/FILMS

with this 4 adresses it has mounted once. But after more then 30 times trying.
On my linux notebook i can mount the share on the ethernetdisk immeadiately and have no problems. But on my router it does not work.
I use a ethernet harddisk with this firmware:
http://www.station-drivers.com/page/landisk.htm
So i think there is a compatibility problem with the smb server on the etthernet disk.
Is there anothere solution to fix this? or did i do something wrong?
I hope somebody can help me with it.

You could try this firmware for your landisk - http://www.aroundmyroom.com/tag/nas-basic
It's works with Vista and irons out a few bugs found in other firmwares

Also have you tried \\storage\FILMS ?

i tried the firmware but it doesn't helps.

\\storage\FILMS will not work because the hostname of the device = nasserver

so storage will not work.

Now i tried to mount a windows share and that works without a problem.
But with my landisk it won't work. In a telnet session i found with dmesg this:
CIFS: Unknown mount option

it's so strange, i think that the smb server in my landisk is not compatible with cifs from dd-wrt. is there another solution?

after a lot of trial en error i have finally mounted my lan disk

but the problem is that i can't have acces to it. But the disk is mounted correctly i think:

this is how i mount it:
when asked for the password i just enter because the share isn't pasword protected
But then i get the error /etc/mtab~

Code:
root@DD-WRT:~# smbmount //192.168.1.135/films /tmp/smb
Password:
Can't get /etc/mtab~ lock filesmbmnt failed: 1

when i look in my telnet session:

Code:
root@DD-WRT:~# mount
rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
/dev/root on / type squashfs (ro)
none on /dev type devfs (rw)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
ramfs on /tmp type ramfs (rw)
/dev/mmc/disc0/part1 on /mmc type ext2 (rw)
/dev/mmc/disc0/part1 on /opt type ext2 (rw)
/dev/mmc/disc0/part1 on /etc/profile type ext2 (rw)
//192.168.1.135/films on /tmp/smb type smbfs (rw,file_mode=0755,dir_mode=0755)

it seems it mounts correctly but when i go to /tmp/smb i see no file.
And when i look in the disk from my computer i can see al the files on the disk.
Somebody know i can fix this?

Maybe your device is not compatible with CIFS, because CIFS uses the tcp port 445 and samba uses the tcp port 139. Try to upgrade the dd-wrt firmware to V 23 SP 2 and mount a samba share.
