The answer to your question in is in the information on the page that Mile-Lile linked to. Pay particular attention to the section titled TX power.

That is all.

nowere is written is it dangerous to put more tx power ,, what will happen if i set it to 50 ... i read the tx section and i went nowhere ... this is why i ask for help here ,why is so dufficult to give simple answer like :

max you can set it to is 50 ,,dont go any further it is dangerous ,, I dont understand what is written there but i ask here how i can have better signal ,will someone help here ,,i am tired of going here and there to read text that i dont understand well and then do ome harm on my router ... i suppose this forum is for getting help not to send people to read half or one boook to get a simple answer ...

so to my question again ,, what is the max tx power that will not do any harm to the router .

is it 50 -60 - 80 ?

thank you again

It is very difficult to say because there is various chips in different routers. Same model of router has many versions(v1, v2...). Read this http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices and find out what is max Tx power for your router. I think that devs puted some limitation for Tx. You can put 35dBm in GUI but it will not go above you chip limitation. I am not sure, so if you want to risk it is your responsibility...

yes i realised that ... whatever i set in the gui 30 -40 it sticks on 23 ... so maybe that is the chip limit ..

Risk of what ,, overheating ?

tnx

The maximum TX power of the WR1043ND v1.x is 24 dBm (500 mW).

My WR1043ND v1.1 is running at this power for months without getting hot.

Best setting to get maximum power and all possible channels is BO (Bolivia).

Sorry, that's right.

The TX power of WR1043ND is 24 dBm = 250 mW.

I did mix it up with my Netgear R7000 running at 27 dBm = 500 mW and higher... Wink

increasing Tx power will increase noise... If you use it in a house higher is not allwayz better... remember that your clients (such as iphones, android, laptops) has Tx+antenna gain lower than 20dBm. but long range links are something else...
