Yesterday i was little bit fighting with upgrade K2.6 to K3.10, in my case it was not easy process, but finally upgrade is successful from K2.6 21676 to K3.10 23598, both wireless works, Repeater bridge mode works as well. Did not check performance.
Only small issue, i think web GUI reactions are not 100%, but nothing critical. _________________ 1 x Asus RT-N18U

Thanks for your replies.
Did the upgrade and it resulted in a bricked unit.
The power led was flashing, USB constantly on and only wifi 2.4 working. The whole lan ports did not work.
No flashing by telnet worked, only the tftp recovery rescued the E3000.
Went to the 21676 K26 Bs mega build and now it works.
Any ideas how to successfully update the last k3x build?

Hi man, you have similiar experience. I had yesterday same issues during my upgrade. power LED blink, USB constant ON, problems with LAN ports.
Anyway i finally did the job.
Go back to K2.6 21676
Do 30-30-30
Update to K3.x 23598 nv60k with reset to default (i think this is important)
give router enough time - in my case it restarted several times
Then finally correct upgrade finnished. _________________ 1 x Asus RT-N18U

but this is still a test version?
Well yes i guess its still test. I did upgrade of another e3000 from original firmware and was again fighting with that. Tried several hours but finally k3x 23598 works. Lot of times i ended with power led blinking and usb light on, but 30-30-30 did the job and its working now. _________________ 1 x Asus RT-N18U

Hi all,
I'm on the path of that upgrade too, still not done on my E3000.
As far I understood, one path to achieve a good upgrade to 3.x version, starting from 2.6 (for me the original suggested version dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv60k.bin), is the following:
1) dd-wrt.v24-21676_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega.bin
2) dd-wrt.v24-21676_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega.bin
3) 30/30/30 reset
4) dd-wrt.v24-23838_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega.bin
5) 30/30/30 reset and normal startup configuration of the router.
It's not the last build but one I found in the forum with positive feedback. If someone can check that steps list would be much appreciated
M.

Hey pgotze,
Do you have any tips on how you got this to work? I am not a dd-wrt noob, but not a guru either.
Context:
I have successfully upgraded my WRT610n v2 to an E3000 (yay!) and have successfully got BS K2.6 r24160 flashed.
The problem:
I have tried the BS K3 builds but while I can flash them, no matter what I try I always get the flashing power led and non-functional LAN ports. Luckily Wifi still works and I can re-flash via that.
I have tried several different recent builds (all of which someone on this forum has stated worked for them. I have tried reverting back to the trailed K2.6 builds and flashing from there with tons of 30-30-30s but no luck.
Any clues would be appreciated.
A tangental note:
I can't seem to find any info which states the difference between the nv60, nv64 and standard builds or how to choose the correct one. I assume it has something to do with the available NV ram but beyond that I'm not sure. Any idea?
