Hi all,
I've just gutted the above unit in preparation of flashing with dd wrt, or as I like to call it 'bricking it'.
Two strange things struck me.

1. the heatsink appears to be attached to the controller by something other then thermal tape and is completely immobile. I take it then it is thermal epoxy? is it possible to seperate with damaging the chip?

2. the onboard memory is a esmt m13s2561616 which is a 4m*16*4 sdram unit. how can a sdram module preserve sw between power cycles without batteries or high cap capacitors. the only caps onboard are the standard 220uf power stabilisers etc.

3. the above memory in the docs is listed as 8m. I take it that it is 8m because it is being addressed on byte boundaries?
