You can upload your original firmware from the emergency room (redboot mode).
To go in the redboot room: power off your router, hold reset button and power on your the router. Wait 5-6 seconds and leave the reset button. Connect the browser to http://192.168.0.1 and upload your firmware.
You ethernet address is like 192.168.0.X with netmask 255.255.255.0? And the power led is blinking (after you try to enter in the redboot mode)?
And try to connect to the WAN interface with your lan cable.
Emergency room seems to be 192.168.0.1 for DIR 615 B1/B2/D1/D2. Try to set your ip address like 192.168.0.2. To enter in the redboot mode is the same method for all DIR 615. Try, I've not other ideas

My D-Link 615-e1 keeps cutting out it's wireless signal for no reason, so I'm trying to reinstall the original firmware. I followed the instructions listed here, but I could never get the the D-Link emergency room. I unplugged the power, and plugged it back in whilst holding the reset button down. After about 7 seconds I let go, and the power light flashed orange. I could never get the browser to connect to 192.168.0.1. It could never get an IP from the router, so I tried to manually force one at 192.168.1.2, but that didn't work as well. It acted as if one end of the cable wasn't plugged in. I tried both a WAN port and one of the lan ports. Please advise thanks.
I have the same as your problem.Could you find a solution?!
I want to get back to the factory firmware.

The most important issue is that your pc has to have an ip like 192.168.0.x, subnet 255.255.255.0; if it has a different ip you can't connect to your DIR-615.
Good luck!
1. download & store the original firmware on your pc.
2. press the reset button of your DIR-615 and hold it - unplug it from power - replug power release the reset button when the power indicator flashes orange.
3. contact your DIR-615 typing 192.168.0.1 into your browser (your pc must have an ip like 192.168.0.x).
4. load the original firmware.
During this process you will not have any internet connection!
