madman, coulod you tell me how stable the 3.x builds are for the RT-N16?
I've been having a lot of problems with my RT just powering down, and needing a reset to boot back up. I have to do a factory restore to get it to stay up. I'm hoping I have that sorted, but I'm curious if the jump to 3.x builds would be worth it for the increased NVRAM to begin with.
Also can you tell me if the NVRAM issue has been resolved in the latest build? (kingkong)
the 3.x build has worked out well for me. I;ve had no real issues with it for normal use. Since you seem to be able to recover from any soft brick, I;d say give it a try.
If it doesn;t work out for you, go back to a 2.6 build like 21676 or Kong 22000. _________________ Please state what make and model router plus the build number and type of DD-WRT you are using. Hello,
I have this router working in very good condition till one day plugged the wrong adapter. 13 Volts instead the 12 Volts that came with the router.
So I ended with the zener diode, power supply stage and mosfets broken. I've changed the two chips from motherboards that have laying arround and managed to get it working but the router worked few weeks and now didn't find the original chips.
Maybe anyone can tell me the numbers of these two chips on the photo?
Everything has been working fine for several years. However, I just installed XBMC 13.1 on one of my win7x64 machines to airplay videos and pictures from my iphone5s.
Airplay pictures work but videos do not. I was able to track down the problem from the XBMC log files. XBMC was unable to find my iphone5s by it's bonjour name "iphone5s.local" so airplay fails. I am unable to ping my iphon5s by that name also but I am able to ping both of my pc's by their bonjour name (office.local & acer.local). Very strange.
My friends E2000 router has the same problem. He also has the same ddwrt version on his.
I was able to create a workaround by adding the suffix "local" to my domain name under the DDWRT->services->LAN Domain and switching the "Used Domain" to LAN and WLAN. XBMC airplay now worked with my iphone5s.
To further track down the problem I was able to swap out my Asus rt-n16 for an old wifi router. XBMC airplay worked perfectly. So ddwrt is the problem.
Does anybody have any ideas why ddwrt is blocking the mdns bonjour name of my iphone? Multicast packets are required but I only see a WAN multicast setting. Should I upgrade to a later version of ddwrt? what version?
yes, you should upgrade to something later. try Kong 22000M. it's 2.6 kernel based so no issues with experimental stuff or instability. _________________ Please state what make and model router plus the build number and type of DD-WRT you are using. Hi. I'm not really well versed in this
I'm trying to set up USB storage and after some research I need to have the "Big" firmware to be able to use NTFS with my hard drive
Thing is that I have MEGA and it seems like it doesn't support that.
I tried to flash from mini to big using dd-wrt.v24-14896_NEWD-2_K2.6_big.bin
It flashed to mini just fine but when I tried to update to big, it actually updated to mega.
Am I actually trying to install mega firmware even though it says big in the file name?

i have Asus N16 with firmware DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/08/12) mega - build 19342 works pretty stable for last 6 months. But i have few small issues
-nat loopback not working (tried fix from forum but it's not working for me)
-Bonjour service is not working
-sometimes i can'tget ip from my cable modem (fixed with firewall script)
- need working Openvpn
can i upgrade to http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K26/r22000++/kingkong-nv32k-broadcom.bin directly from my build (i will do default settings before upgrade) or should i go to K.3 build?
