I have two Intel Gigabit 82540em revision 2.

When I try to load up DD-WRT it refuses to work with the intel cards. Any other older 100mbps cards I can access the Web GUI and have a working system.

I did the lspci command and both cards are listed.
as Intel Gigabit 82540em rev2

They work under m0n0wall and windows so they are fully functional as far as I can tell.

Its like it detects them but refuses to use or enable them.

The DD-WRT terminal does not even mention anything uplink detected when ethernet is plugged in like it does with older 100mbps cards.

Here is the output of the system with the same type and model of the cards that does work.

On the other system that does not work with two other cards that are the same type and model it says

Device br0 left promiscuous mode
Device br0 entered promiscuous mode
Device br0 left promiscuous mode

Then it goes to network unreachable.
it keep scrolling repeating the network is not reachable.

I can't access the webgui. I am not getting an ip address from the system that does not work.

The motherboards bios are the latest. This happens in both 64bit and 32bit.

There is a sticky thread for reporting non-working ethernet adapters, post there.
Read the last few post in the thread for understanding what info is required.

But this is whats going on... I have 3 Intel 82450EM that are the same cards. Only one of them works along with a similar card which is a 82541pi in my current setup.

The other two no matter what I do I can't get the other two 82450EM to work in any pc with dd-wrt.

They all work with m0n0wall and in windows so they do work. I just want to know why does this DD-WRT work with 1 out of the 3 I got.

They both show up with the lspci command.

I am just wondering is there some firmware/bios issue on the card or what.

I tested with Realtek 8169sc and its the same thing as the Intel gigabit cards. No packets or and IP. Terminal does not acknowledge anything about it being connected. Tried different wires both patch and crossover type with a switch and without.

I got the screen grabs with the realtek 8169sc cards installed.

I ran the lspci command and I can't get anything that was scrolled up.

I also ran the dmesag command too.
