Hey Folks,
I have installed dd-wrt on my WDR3600 router using the manual...two times hard reset (303030) and so on.
Configuration is as follows:
TPLINK TL-WDR3600 v1
Firmware Version
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) std - build 21061
Kernel Version
Linux 3.5.7 #6134 Mon Mar 25 07:09:54 CET 2013 mips
It works quite fine. But when I try to copy files > 50MB or multiple files straight afterwards the connection to the FTP closes and sometimes the router reboots afterwards.
I have tried it with to different HDDs. 500GB and 1,5TB NTFS.
This is quite annoying because I want to use the Router as a NAS, too.
Well I have updated to the version you mentioned.
No change.
But I think I have found the error.
Testing with slower uploading speeds I could see the problem rising.
In normal state the router has about 110MB free memory. After beginning to copy a file to the NTFS drive, the memory is getting filled.
After having copied 110MB to the memory the router runs out of memory and crashes.
So in my opinion the router forgets to write the files to the HDD or CF.
Could this be helpful to solve the problem? Or can anybody confirm it?
Newer Firmware, similar Problem. (See requirements below)
Now it is possible to copy large files. Free Memory decreases down to 5% and stays constantly until the large file (>1GB) is copied.
But if I copy many small files, the Free Memory decreases down to 0%, then the router crashes and reboots.
Is there now any workaround for that? Isn't it possible to limit the memory used for file copy actions?
Thank you!

Works partially...crashes every few minutes :\
The difference is, that the router doesn't reset like before. Only the connection breaks down for a while...
"
Could not write to transfer socket: ECONNRESET - Connection reset by peer

In addition, the web interface is veeeeery slow and crashes as well while copying. Is it possible that the FTP/Samba stuff really challenges the router?
