I really only installed DDWRT to run servers on my R7000. I really need a umurmur server more than anyother but I'm inexperianced in cross compiling for ddwrt or the ARM broadcom router.

can someone help?
it needs a few libraries compiled as well

Hi. Did you ever get a working version? I have this same problem of trying to get umurmur running again on my r7000 after ipkg was removed. Thanks.

You can get opkg. Check this out http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=268267

Thanks.

Can't seem to get it to install however.

Collected errors:
* pkg_hash_fetch_best_installation_candidate: Packages for umurmur-openssl found, but incompatible with the architectures configured
* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package umurmur-openssl.

It's been several months since I installed it before, but I don't remember having to do anything special to get it to work.

Did you run opkg update before installing umurmur?

Yeah, I did. I'm a noob though, I just realized I needed to download the bcm53xx version.

I was able to get umurmur and libprotobuf-c from
http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/bcm53xx/packages/packages/

I also got libconfig from http://debian.keithdunnett.net/ddwrt/bcm53xx/packages/

opkg said it installed, however when I try to run it I get,

"-sh: umurmurd: not found"

I suppose you have follow this wiki: http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/umurmur

The error you got "-sh: umurmurd: not found" sounds like something is broken.

Yeah, I'm not sure what is wrong. "opkg list-installed" shows it as being installed, but I still get the same not found message.

Hi Jaeran, you mentioned that you have successfully installed umurmur before. May be the latest version from openwrt snapshots is not good for you. How about try the earlier build such as barrier breaker instead of snapshots. You may have to use wget to download the earlier version or change opkg.conf to point to barrier breaker. However I am not sure if it will allow you to downgrade since you have already installed the latest version of umurmur.

Edit: Just realized that barrier breaker doesn't support bcm53xx.

I tried installing umurmur on my F5D8235-4 v2 and got a lot of errors during installation. Actually it seems like my router has problem installing program from openwrt snapshots recently.

I completely wiped everything, updated to Kong's latest firmware and tried installing it from scratch.

Now I come across this error when trying to install libprotobuf-c. Same error for umurmur.

Installing libprotobuf-c (v1.0.1) to root...
Configuring libprotobuf-c.
/opt//usr/lib/opkg/info/libprotobuf-c.postinst: .: line 2: can't open '/lib/functions.sh'
Collected errors:
* pkg_run_script: package "libprotobuf-c" postinst script returned status 2.
* opkg_configure: libprotobuf-c.postinst returned 2.

Anyway, thanks for the help. I think I might just have to wait until umurmur is in Kong's repository.

Hi Jaeran,

I got the same type of error with my F5D8235-4 when I installed ipk from openwrt snapshots recently. As you said, you might have to wait until umurmur is in Kong"s repository.
