Hey guys,

To start off i am new to this forum so i might post in the wrong place sorry.

I am looking for a router that can disable DHCP and the can be used as a switch. putting out 3/4 ethernet kabels and a wifi signal.

i am looking at the Netgear WNDR3700. Which supports DD-WRT. i would like to know if this router with the DD-WRT software supports the router to be used as a switch.

This is a router becoming a switch behind the modem.

i also am new to DD-WRT. How good is it? does it give allot of extra options to what i have read it sounds nice.

Thanks

You're not commited running a DHCP-server. You can switch off the DHCP-server in dd-wrt as in most stock-firmware, too.

Just configure your router as an acess point. Follow the long version of the guide, and your router will become an acess point for wifi and for your wired needs it will just work as a switch.
