Hello

I have a strange problem with TP-LINK WR741ND V1.

On BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2 (r24461), lan connectivity between computers on eth ports does not work.

Communication between eth(lan) - wifi(lan) works.
Communication between eth(lan) - wan(internet) works.
Communication between wifi(lan) - wan(internet) works.

Does not work connectivity between eth(lan) - eth(lan).

The total lack of traffic, lack of routing between eth(lan) - eth(lan), does not pass even a single package, as if a switch has stopped working.

The only version that works properly is r21061.
Version r21061 works normally, r24461 version does not work properly.

Any idea what to do?

Hello,

I've got TP-LINK WR741ND V1 too and I'm having the same issue on r24461. I guess we will have to wait for another version.

So I decided to get back to r21061 in meanwhile, but I wasn't sucesfull. I tried "update" to r21061, I tried to revert to stock, I tried updating stock, I even tried updating to openwrt (not that I hoped that any of it would work, except the first one).

Can someone help me? Point me in right direction?

Thanks.

What symptoms?

When I was using version r24461 always getting error "Upgrade failed."

The way to upload to an older version. Trying to upload to one of these versions:
r23720
r23919
r23082
r21286
r20548
r20453
r24160

Typically, one of them will work if I have r24461.
Then, when you manage to upload one of these versions, you can use r21061 or "tl-wr741nd_v1_v2-webrevert" and if you want you can upload Gargoyle 1.6.1

Thanks for the reply, but I wasn't successfull, with any of these versions. "Upgrade failed" with almost all of them, except few, which even said Upgrade uscesfull, but after restarting I found out, that I'm still on 24461.

Try a few times this same versions.
And if you still do not succeed it can try this solution:

1 On DD-WRT:
1.1 Under Services, Secure Shell, SSHd: check enable, then click Apply Settings button;
1.2 Under Administration, Remote Access, SSH Management: check enable, then click Apply Settings button;

2 Download and install WinSCP (http://winscp.net);

3 Download corresponding firmware from ftp://tplink-forum.pl/orgin_bez_boot/

4 Download putty (http://www.putty.org/)

5 On WinSCP:
5.1 Select New Site;
5.2 File protocol: SCP;
5.3 Hostname: 192.168.1.1 (or your router IP);
5.4 Username: root
5.5 Password: your admin pass
5.6 Drag downloaded firmware from Download folder and drop in /tmp
5.7 (Important, I think...) On Transfer Settings, select Binary
5.8 Transfer;

6 On putty;
6.1 Login on 192.168.1.1 (user root and pass);
6.2 Type:
cd /tmp (Enter)
mtd -r write xxxxx.bin linux (Enter) (Sure, replace xxxx with your firmware filename...)

7 Use at your own risk. (I cannot confirm if it will work on your model, router, etc.)

If you succeed then you can upload the factory-to-ddwrt.bin

Thanks, this time it worked. I had a little problem with connecting via winscp, but otherwise I was able to upload and update to stock firmware.

Thanks again Smile
