Heya all:

Anyone have success with a simple method for accessing a 2nd WRT54G router from behind the first one via WEB GUI? I can use my IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080 and see the first one no problem, but the 2nd one????

Router 1 feeds out from the LAN port to the WAN port on router 2.

It sounds like the firewall is running on your second router. Have you enabled Remote Access on the Administration>Management tab(s) (see attached screenshot)?

Thanks for the reply, but the SPI firewall is off on both routers. It's not that I can't access the 2nd router, I don't know the URL to get to it from public internet. The only thing I haven't tried is assigning port :8081 to the 2nd router and accessing it via the ISP assigned IP number....right?

You need to port forward from the primary router to the WAN IP of the second one. This might mean that you forward some random port down to port 8080. You would then access it using your outside IP and the random port # you selected.

Another method would be to change the port used for the GUI on the second router so it doesn't conflict with the main and then port forward that new port number from the main to the WAN IP of the second router. You would then access the second router from outside using the outside IP and your new port #.

Make sure remote access is enabled on the second router.
