Hey guys, I'm new to DD WRT and I think what I'm looking for is a way to reverse proxy at the router.

What I have is a couple of HTTP services I'd like to be able to access from the WAN securely. Currently I can do this via VPN but it's a nuisance. Am I able to get these behind HTTPS using DD WRT? If so any pointers would be appreciated - also, is there a better way of going about this??

Thanks!

This ones easy.

If the services are hosted on a seperate box to your router - Just use port forwarding.

If youre running https then you need to forward port 443 to the box thats hosting the service.

If its only http, then forward port 80.

So say your router is 192.168.0.1 and your webserver is 192.168.0.2 you'd forward port 443 from any external address to 192.168.0.2.
You'd generally do the same for port 80

Thats not going to automagically give you a secure environment, but at least it will get the external data into your internal network so you can get stuff done.

Then if you were running lets say usage monitoring on the router using its web server, you'd simply use the reverseproxy option in your main web server to display the pages from the router. Thats the setup i use and it works without issue.
