Read thisTopic http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=267793 post from rlindon on step #3 it's a link to stripped files check if TL-WR1043ND-v2 it's there if not ask someone to strip one for you or read how to strip one here http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4816 remember to follow first post cause there is a change on Gargoyle/OpenWrt
they use mtd -r write /tmp/tplink.bin firmware
DD-WRT uses mtd -r write xxxxx.bin linux I learned this from nebbia88 _________________ TP-Link: TL-WR741ND V4

My post it's clear not to use mtd -r write xxx.bin firmware

cd /tmp (Enter)
mtd -r write xxxxx.bin linux (Enter) (Sure, replace xxxx with your firmware filename...)

so I did what you just said.Successful, but then all of my ethernet ports are not working(shown as no ethernet plugged in on my computer),and i can't find any wifi signal from my router.so I think its bricked lol.
I have to make myself clear that my ethernet and wifi are not working at all,so I can't access or do anything to my router.I can see lights blinking there,I also tried hard reset but still no luck at all.
I have the 1043ND v2 as well and would like to revert.
For some reason it works very vey poorly as a wireless AP.I have compiled the latest DD-WRT from source and it is still not fixed, I dont know what to do. So I would like to revert FW to the factory, or at least have the ability to do so until I find where in the source it is broken.
OP, did you ever get it to work? I am hesitant to follow the steps due to the OP getting bricked, but I will still read them over.
Any chance we could get an official revert for the sticky in this subforum?

F'ing close call. Luckily DD-WRT was still in RAM, and I was able to upload DD-WRT and flash back in the same SSH session.
I am using a "stripped" FW.
What is wrong here??? Why is that command not working, does anyone know?
I am about ready to order a new flash part, flash it up, and rework the one ive got...[/quote]
Looks like this model has serial headers that I can solder on. I think I will give that a try to see if I can talk to the bootloader. I already have a TTL serial adapter
samwonghc, if you are still around this could help you too
Second post by qwe900, referencing a post guide by rlindon. Worked perfectly fine for a wr841ndv8, the original firmware file from tplink for the wr1043ndv2 is also in the directory. If you have not bricked your router at this point, those set of instructions coupled with the correct original firmware should have reverted your device.

I tried everything - from installing the official firmware to the one linked at the end of this thread and when that failed I tried to flash DD-WRT again. ALL ended up with the same error message (same as yours). After I had attempted to write the DDWRT firmware again, I figured "well, I just reinstalled DDWRT, it SHOULD work, right". Well, it didn't, and now my router's bricked.
