I keep getting this error, both for freedns.afraid.org and for no-ip.com.
I must be filling out the form wrong, can anyone tell me exactly what to put?

Here is a more helpful answer. Go to the link given. Go to page 2 and look for the post by celem posted Thu May 08, 2014 8:02.

I used it to get my noip.com DDNS working.

DDNS Service:NO-IP.com
Username: my-noip-username
Password: my-noip-password
Hostname: https://www.noip.com/members/dns/host.php?host_id=my-hostid-number

I just cut and pasted the url from my browser address box in to the DD-WRT Host name box after clicking modify on my host address on the noip.com website.

Booyah!

For afraid.org a key must be used, which you get from their web site.
Code:
myhost.homenet.org,dGxVcnduTmFCcGxNenpUUGRtAWE6YTE0ODU5NTU=

Paste into the host text box. The key allways ends with a =.

That worked for me too. Thanks.

When I used the freedns.afraid.org option it kept stuffing the hash value into the address and at the end there was the name of a 2nd domain I have registered with afraid.org

Me too... the fix was to replace the auto generated hash at the end of the domain with the complete hash.

To get the has go to freedns.afraid.org > Dynamic DNS > Direct URL. The URL string will have the entire hash you need. Paste it in DD-WRT > Setup > DDNS > Hostname after your domain name.
