Hi,

I am the website owner of http://geo.flagfox.net and I understand that this site is used within the DD-WRT firmware?

This post is just a heads up to let you know that due to a massive influx of crappy traffic I'm going to be changing the URL again in the next few months (and probably moving provider). I don't have the exact details for the new URL or timings for this change, but when I do I can let you know. Should I just post the details on the forum, or can I contact somebody offline?

Regards,

Richard

You could probably just post within this thread and when the change is ready, you let us know and we'll let the devs know.

OK, I have decided on the new URL for the Geotool website. It will be http://geoip.flagfox.net. The site is available for use as of now.

And I have made a few changes so that DD-WRT users should see the ReCaptcha less frequently than on the old URL.

The http://geo.flagfox.net site will be available for a few more months at least, but it would be good to start using the new URL in any forthcoming releases.

This site appears to have IP restrictions, and no longer works on my DD-WRT unless I'm on a US VPN. Are there any other free alternatives that can be included in DD-WRT that don't have this restriction?

There are no IP restrictions as such. Although in the past I've had issues with high traffic from certain IP addresses abusing the website so these have been blocked. It's possible that your IP address has been blocked inadvertently. If you PM me your IP address I can take a look.

Once again due to a massive amount of traffic coming from Russia, I've been forced to change the URL for the geotool website, which I believe is used withing DD-WRT.

The new address is http://iplookup.flagfox.net

Note, that I had moved to using https, but I've currently reverted back to http. I do intend to go back to using https, but any http requests will automatically get forwarded.
