Problems getting R7000 to work with Virgin SuperHub 2

I bought the R7000 a few days ago to replace my Airport Extreme 5th gen as wireless AP.

I have a Virgin Media superhub 2, which is setup in modem only mode. Yesterday I flashed DD-WRT onto the R7000, but had problems getting it to work properly. It worked initially,but then my devices had trouble connecting after a few minutes. I think this may be something to do with DHCP, but I’m not sure.

Currently I am using my SH2 for DHCP Reservation and have static ips for all my devices. I don’t mind changing this and letting the R7000 take care of this if it will make things any easier?

Anyway, I was just wondering if there was a guide available for setting up R7000 with Superhub 2?
