|
New Zealand is very different from Australia. We're a bit like Canada vs USA, close neighbours, but importantly our regulatory domain for radio spectrum is very different.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels
In NZ, we are luckily allowed all of the 5 GHz channels and in 2.4 GHz, channels 1-13 at up to 1 watt!.

And, from our government, backing up whats'in the above 2 URL's
http://www.rsm.govt.nz/cms/licensees/types-of-licence/general-user-licences/short-range-devices/information-on-the-operation-of-wireless-lan-and-related-systems-in-the-2-ghz-and-5-ghz-bands

So, in summary, the NZ option would allow:
2.4 GHz channels
1-13 - 1 watt (30dBm) peak EIRP
5 GHz channels:
34,36,38,40,42,44,46,48 - indoor WLAN only, up to 200 mW (23dBm) peak power, no DFS
52,56,60,64 - 200mW (23dBm) total EIRP for indoor use without DFS or 1 watt (30dBm) total EIRP for Outdoor with DFS radar detect enabled
100,104,108,112,116,120,124,128,132,136,140 - 1 watt (30dBm) total EIRP and DFS must be enabled
149,153,157,161,165 - 1 watt peak EIRP, no DFS
I'm running a D-Link DIR-868L and currently running kongac V24 pre SP2 build 25015 - and it rocks! |
